A "Peanut Free" environment can be interpreted in many ways. Some companies say that their kitchen is "peanut free" meaning that they do not buy any peanuts, cook with any peanuts or use any peanuts on the premises. We at Mimimelon take this term very seriously. Not only do we not buy, cook or use peanuts, buy every ingredient that is bought, must have an allergen statement from the original manufacturer. Each allergen statement clearly specifies use of each allergen in the product, on the same manufacturing line and in the same manufacturing establishment. If we have any doubts or concerns for a product, we contact the manufacturer to see what measure of quality control they have in place to ensure safety of their product from contamination. We do not take chances. Mimimelon staff are not allowed to bring in their own food. All snacks and lunches are eaten in the cafeteria and all hands are washed prior to baking or decorating. We seal and package all of our products right after baking.
* It is important to note that our bakery is also free of tree nuts, sesame seeds, poppyseeds and all products containing milk ingredients. |
